Thank you for welcoming me into your family with open arms. You made me feel as though I was your long lost daughter. I will never forget your smile, patience and sense of humor. I have learned a lot from you in this short time. 

My favorite memories are of the stories you would tell. You had an ability to make even the most boring thing sound interesting. All the family stories and stories of your many travels will forever be burned into my memory. 

Thank you for everything you have done for me & the family. You will always live in my heart.

Dad I miss you so much. I miss being able to ask you questions knowing you will have the right answers. Every time I would have a problem with my car you would help and teach me how to fix it. I liked how you and I had the same interests. Flying model airplanes and racing our radio controlled trucks. I would not change that for the world. You were a great Dad to Sandy and I. You were also a great husband to Mom and a great Grandfather. You have taught me a lot of things and I will pass it on through my life. Your legacy will never end. Bob, everyone misses you down here.  I remember working on Joyce's car and you teaching me to work smarter not harder.  You taught me many things. I am so glad we got to spend time together going to off road shows and other events. You had an amazing heart and cared for everyone.  Our trip back east was so much fun this year and I am so glad we spent that time together with the family.  Kayla and V5 miss you and Kayla is always saying Papa.  Sandy and I will make sure they know how great of a person you were. I know you are looking over all of us.  Until we meet again. Love you Mr. Bob

Even though I did not know Bob that long,  I truly enjoyed him and his vibrant spirit.  He had a smile that lit up a room and a kind and loving soul.  I feel blessed to have known him and spent the time with him that I did.  My love and prayers to his beautiful family.

Daddy you were my sounding board I went to you with all my questions and concerns. You were everything from my doctor to my mechanic. In my eyes you had all the right answers and all the right things to say to make me feel better. I will forever cherish our memories together especially our father daughter fishing trip to Lake Perris in the green stationweagon. We had so much fun together whether it was just us or as a family. I am so grateful for our final trip together and that we got to spend so much time together. There is nothing like a father and daughter bond, It can never be broken. I will forever be daddy's little girl. It pains me that I can't come to you anymore even just for a big daddy hug. Your wings were ready but my heart wasn't. I will love you forever my pops. And your legacy will forever live on through us. Kayla and V5 will know just how great of a grampa they have and how much you love them. I wish you could have seen them grow but I know they as well as us have a very special guardian angel watching over us. Love and miss you like crazy pops alway and forever.

Bob Wade was born and raised in the midwest, the heartland of America. He grew up in a little town of Lansing, Illinois where he learned that family, friends and hard work were important in his life. Bob loved his family and friends and people in general as manifested just being around him. A large man in stature, he was quick to project his big smile and warmth whenever he saw you and/or met someone for the very first time. Bob had a demeanor that when you first met him, he made you feel comfortable, especially with that broad smile from which you could sense his intrest in you. In extending his firm handshake, you just knew that he was genuinely interested in meeting your acquaintance. His conversation was all about you...asking questions about your family...eagerly wanting to know more about you rather than focusing on himself. Bob was also witty, often making quips during conversation for good laughs sake. It is also noted that he was knowledgeable about current events and foreign affairs and was able to contribute whenever we discussed the days events.
At an early age, Bob took interest in ham radio in his home town of Lansing, near Chicago, where in a two-block area, there were at least six ham radio operators. From here there was no stopping as he was very interested in electronics and the world of radio communication. In his bio at QRZ.com, Bob talks about his experiences in ham radio. He earned a BS degree in electrical engineering; without a doubt, electronics-related hobbies became a permanent fixture in his lifestyle.
Bob also had a passionate interest in radio control airplane flying. He was an active member of the Corona Radio Control Club.
Several years ago, members of the Riverside QCWA Chapter 177/DX Club, welcomed Bob as a member in which he served as Chapter Secretary-Treasurer. He contributed much in way of being a board member and providing audio-visual logistics for program presentations. As mentioned, Bob loved people and enjoyed fellowshipping with his ham radio colleagues. I got to know him and his wife Joyce a little more while attending the ARRL Yuma Ham Radio Conventions. It was through Bob that my wife and I began to attend that annual event. After having fellowship with them at Yuma for the past 5 years, we will certainly miss Bob as he made an impression in our lives.
Needless to say, it was shocking to hear about his passing. Many of us knew he was ailing, as we noted that he progressively had difficulty getting around. Being an upbeat person, he did not let his health issues interfere with his schedules and plans. Three months ago, he talked about his plans to go back to the Midwest and visit family, a gathering that he would not miss, even with his health issues. Even when I recently visited him at Riverside Community Hospital, Bob looked upbeat and seemed optimistic...looking forward to returning to Flo's Restaurant where we had our weekly DX Club gatherings. We will miss his presence...he regularly sat at his favorite chair and was one of the first ones to attend the breakfast...he was one who always smiled as he greeted those who came after him. I will miss his query as he always asked me,"how is your wife?" His legacy may be summed up as one who loved people-his family, friends and his natural ability to make new friends. In short, Bob/W6RTW was helpful, useful, and kind man, a person worth knowing.

I wanted to pass along my condolences. I was introduced to Bob at the Chino Hills swap meet by Barrie. I only knew him for a short time, but I shall miss him.

Such sad news. I have known Bob since the mid-60's and i can honestly say all of us that knew him, thought he was a good guy. My wife and I have been saying a special prayer for him every morning for at least a month and along at our church we included him in with all those that need prayer on Sunday morning. He and Joyce will be sorely missed at the wednesday breakfast meeting at Flo's. Writing this brings tears to my eyes. My wife and I extend our sincerest sympathies to the family.

It's hard to believe our good friend is gone so young. We had so many good times and planned for many more. Bob and the group looked forward to get together to talk radio, families and world events. I know Bob was a good father and grand father and enjoyed life. Bob always cared about his fellow man. He enjoyed Ham Radio and his friends. We will miss Bob and always keep him in our hearts.

I am deeply saddened, I likes Bob and enjoyed his company and his humor a great deal. We are all diminished by his loss. I will miss him.

Bob will be deeply missed. He was such a great friend and we will cherish our memories we have always.

We all are so saddened to know that Bob is no longer with you but know he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. we know you all have great memories that will be with you forever. We'er praying for comfort and peace for you at this difficult time. We love you!

I worked for your Dad at Starcrest. I am so sorry for your familys loss. Your father had a definite effect on my professional life and I have always been grateful.

Thinking of you and your family alot today, wish I could make everyone feel better. For me it help remembering all the good times your Dad and I had at work! I know he was a great father. Your Dad was a great guy and a true friend.

My earliest recollection of Bob was about 1962. Bob was 12 and my oldest sister, Judy was 15. Bob had a crush on her. We were navigated to come together to avoid Bob's disappointment. After that we were pretty inseparable. Our 1st electronic adventure was to take a couple of old record player/radios and installing microphones on them. We then went to the local hardware store and purchased many rolls of copper bell wire. Our houses were 2 down and across the alley. We strung the wires and, had our 1st intercom. Amazing for a couple of young kids. As we went down the road a couple of more years, we both become interested in Ham radio. Bob, being older, got his license 1st. I got my 1st one in 1965. As we grew older, we went to Hamfests and local meetings. The Hamfests were pretty cool. We stayed up all night seeing how many QSOs (conversations) we could have. As time went on, Bob met the love of his life, Joyce. We still did many things together, the 3 of us. My folks moved us to Florida, but we still kept in touch. I was best man at Bob and Joyce's wedding, and was much honored. Of course, taking Bob out the night before was, let's say entertaining to those in observance. After that, the Wade family relocated to sunny Southern California. I flew out to for a visit and had a great time. Bob and Joyce came to visit me in Florida. I'm sorry to say, we all got very busy after that and were not able to have face to face connections. Bob was out for work to Florida in about 1986. We were able to share some time together. I had an opportunity to come out to LA this past spring, but unfortunately, the Wades were enjoying some traveling and we couldn't get together. 
Although we haven't been together in a few years, Bob was always close in my thoughts. For most of our early years, we were best friends. To me, Bob is still my best friend. 73s good buddy. I love you.

Bob always had a smile and a kind heart. Will miss him.

many memories of Bob have revisited. Riding in the back of his yellow T-bird. The time some of the men who worked with us at B+H rented a houseboat on the Sacramento Delta and Bob caught a fish one night snagging the fish by the head. Watching lamp posts pass us as Bob spun the car I was in on a ice covered empty parking in Alaska. Bob was laughing his head off while I started to wonder if he was going to get me to the airport on time. A vivid video in my mind when Bob decided to stop smoking so he would be sure to see his kids weddings and grand kids. Many conversations will continue to replay wishing I had at least one more. Bob gave me true friendship, honesty, a sense he was really happy to see me. I will miss him.

I remember when Joyce, Pat, Sherry, Mousey and I were all on the PTA together with your Dad. He and I were the only ones that would pick up the microphone to announce things. Your Dad was President and I was treasurer. I came to the house to have him co-sign checks. I also agree with you about his big heart and smile. With his medical issues, he always smiled when he saw us. He loved his children and grandchildren so much. He will be watching and bragging to the other angels about all of you.

I'm so sad and sorry to hear this news. It's been about almost 20 years since the last california rc marathon but for the rest of my life ill never forgot "WA9NFO for the california rc marathon"

Such sad and shocking news. Worked with Bob for years at Starcrest...I'll always remember his laugh. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.

 I have only met uncle bob once but I felt like he was my uncle all along. I might not be blood and just married in but he loved us and everybody he knew. I will miss his Facebook messages to me. I will miss him for you and ur children but I know he's watching.

I had so much fun with your Dad in high school. We hit it off from the moment I met him. I was a little upset when my sister took him over,but that was short lived when he became my brother-in-law. My sincere condolences! I worked with Bob at Starcrest, but then saw him in riverside when I worked for the Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor's Office. What a wonderful man! He will be missed by many, but I'm happy to know we will all meet again!

It was a shock to hear of Bob's passing. He was a very warm and kind man. It was a pleasure to work with him and know him. All of you in his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I've only known the Wade family for a few short years, but long enough to know what a beautiful spirit and kind heart Bob had.
He was an adoring husband, a doting dad, and proud grandfather. I feel truly blessed to have known him!

The Corona RC Club is saddened to hear about Bob's death.  He was the club Treasurer between 2009-11 and helped out at the Registration / Ticket booths.  Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and a mighty laugh.  He will be missed at the meetings, the field, club events and in the hearts of those who knew him.  On a personal note I grew up in Hammond IN which is a hop, skip and a jump from Calumet City, IL.  Bob and I shared a few stories about the area when we worked together at events.  My sympathy goes to Bob's family.

Thoughts of Bob bring us wonderful memories --- a young couple so much in love with one another. Fun times together in our little Cal City apartments playing games and laughing as we were all newly marrieds. Sharing the joys of little ones. Visits to California and places in between where we could meet after you moved from the Midwest. Bob, always smiling and happy and glad to be with family and friends. A caring and loving husband and father, all the time. A friend you could trust and who would help anyone at any time; a man of his word. A person of high integrity. A "captain" of our houseboat at Lake Powell.
A man who had a few years of health challenges but never complained, and certainly didn't want any pity from anyone. A respected man who gave back to his community. A wonderful, loving Grandpa. We have been blessed to have been a part of Bob's life!

Bob was my first boss after I graduated from college. He took an interest in my personal life, especially my desire to fall in love and get married at that time. He as a friend as well as my supervisor.
