.Robert Perre, or better known as Bob or Bobby, was born on November 8th, 1963. He was born in West Covina, California at the Queen of the Valley Hospital, to his parents Vickie Adams(Perre), and Maurice Brad Perre. Bob has a loving wife named Diana Perre(Ortiz), sister named Jeanette Fryman(Kelly), as well as three kids: Danielle, Gabriella, and Justin. Not only that, but he had 3 grandchildren, named Madison, Noah, Logan, and was expecting one on the way. He was always a loving father, friend, and someone you can rely on. Bob would usually be serious, but it was funny because he would love to joke around as well. His jokes tended to be quite serious, but they were always funny, as it was like he was not trying to be a jokester, but it always came out that way. To better explain it, he was mainly a mixture between sarcastic and dry humor. He always was loving towards all his friends and family. His love was different towards everybody, as he had different ways that he showed his love. Towards his family, his love was shown through support, as he was always a great provider for his family. Whether it would be a roof over their heads, or food on the table, he did it all. Towards his friends, the love was different. The way he showed his love was to talk smack, or crack jokes about you. As he would always say, “If I do not make fun or you or joke with you, that means I do not like you”; sarcastic humor at its finest. Through the years, Bob showed great compassion towards people. He showed this through always donating towards different organizations. But not only organizations, he was also a sponsor to someone who lived in his wife’s home country, Honduras. Bob was an avid collector of sports and western memorabilia. To be more specific, for sports it was always baseball and football, and for his westerns, he always loved Clint Eastwood items and movies. He had tons of baseball and football cards, pictures, and bobbleheads. In case you have not noticed, Bob was all about sports. To clarify, baseball was his favorite sport, as all throughout his life, he was surrounded by it. Bob was a coach for many years. He coached at multiple Little Leagues, but the one place he was at the most was Orangewood Little League, and at one point was even recognized by the city for the great work he did at that League. He coached his son from age 5, up until he joined High School. But Bob could not get away from the game, and would coach his Summer Ball team as well, with his good friend Bobby Alvarez. Being on the topic of sports, there were two teams that Bob was known to love, and that was the Dodgers and Broncos. He would always be wearing either his Dodgers shirt, or bright colored Broncos shirts. Diana always tried to get rid of his favorite Dodgers shirt, since she disliked it, and she even went to the point of hiding it. But Bob always found it, and could always be seen wearing it. Throughout his life, there were many events and experiences that helped shaped him into the wonderful man he was today.
For one, which was quite comical, was how he learned how to swim at just six months old. But being able to swim at such a young age was not the reason why it is funny, but it was the reason how he learned to swim. Vickie was in the water and pulled him in (so she says…) and he went under, only to get back to the surface of the water. From then on, he was known to love the water, and he would swim exactly like a fish. Although, one day he was at the beach and got stung by a jellyfish, and then he never liked the water again, unfortunately.
Later on, as Bob got older, at the age 4, he was enrolled into Kindergarten. When he would get picked up by the school bus, his favorite dog, a tan colored German Shepard named Skipper, would jump the fence and follow him to school. Being like kids would be, he did not want to attend class, and would instead hang out with Skipper and play on the monkey bars. This would always lead to the school calling Vickie to come pick up Skipper, and to make sure that Bob would get to class and behave.
A couple years later, Bob was excited to join the Cub Scouts. He was a Cub Scout for about two years, and he had numerous activities that he would love to do throughout his time as a Cub Scout. One of the activities that he loved, involved him creating Soap Box Derby cars that he would eventually race down a homemade ramp that he and his fellow Cub Scouts made. Not only that, but he would also enjoy collecting the badges that he earned for doing certain activities and achieving certain goals.
Although he loved his time as a Cub Scout, he had to give it up in order to play the sport that he grew up with and loved, and that was baseball. He played at a Little League around Barranca. Bob played baseball all throughout his childhood, starting at the young age of seven. He played up until he graduated High School. He attended South Hills High School and graduated Class of 1982.
At a young age, Bob wanted to go straight to work. He worked while he was in High School, at a company called Montgomery Ward. Later on, he got a job at the company Brad worked for, and that company was called Golden State Foods. He worked at Montgomery Ward for about eight years, and he worked at Golden State Foods for about thirty-three years. Throughout his time at Golden State Foods, he met numerous people that became his friends. He would always say how his friends would always talk smack about the Dodgers or Broncos when they played their favorite teams, and would make fun of him when they lost, which Bob always enjoyed.
In 1987, Bob met Diana at her sister’s house. At first, Diana was not interested in him. But Bob was very persistent in trying to get Diana’s attention, and would constantly ask her to go on a date with him. She finally caved in, and they went on a date, but she did not have a good feeling at the end of the date because the day did not go right. But being how persistent Bob was, he tried again, and took her to a place where she could dance to some up-beat music. From that date, Diana was finally interested in him, and from then on, they started their life together. They had their first child, Gabriella, in 1988, and eventually were married on March 10th, 1990. As a family, they would take Gabriella, and his first daughter from a previous marriage, Danielle, on vacation. They would go to the beach at Ventura, San Diego, Pismo, and Carpinteria. In 1995, his second child with Diana was born, and that was Justin. Throughout the years, Bob was a great father to all of his children. He cherished all the times that he was able to spend with his children. The one thing he enjoyed doing the most was taking his family to the Dodgers games. That was always something he and the family looked forward to.
In 2015, a new chapter in his life was opened, as Bob now can finally say he and his wife were home owners. They moved to Moreno Valley, Ca, and they settled over there and got situated. Since Bob worked in West Covina, he had quite a commute to do. On his way to work, he started to listen to the Christian radio, and Pastor Prospectors was his favorite program that he would listen to. He started to ask Diana about God, and she said the best way was to attend church. Bob finally found his church, and that church was the Calvary Chapel. He accepted Jesus the first day that he attended church. The first day, the pastor asked Bob “If you were to die tonight, do you know where you are going?”, Bob replied “I guess I am going to heaven”. The pastor then said “No, you would not because you have not accepted Jesus as your savior. Do you want me to pray for you?”. Bob then replied “Yes”. Diana was in tears because she long awaited to hear Bob say those words, and she felt that he was going to be an activist and a huge asset for the church . Later on in May, he was baptized, and everything was going great.
With all the good times that Bob had, it all had to come to an end too soon. In July of 2016, Bob was complaining about his eye sight and how he was losing his vision. He went to numerous Optometrist’s, and they all said the same thing, “Your eye sight is fine”. Bob then went to the Ophthalmologist, and he believed that he had a tumor and rushed them to the hospital. On July 12th, it was later revealed that Bob was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. On July 18th, he had a craniotomy to remove a piece of the tumor so a biopsy can be done. Weeks passed by, and the news finally came in, he was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme Brain Tumor. After that, God took Bob by his hands and always made him be in high spirits, as he was very positive throughout this whole ordeal. Unfortunately, on March 3rd, 2017, Bob passed away due to Respiratory Arrest. Although he lost his life, we know he is in the Lord’s hands, and that he has made his way through the gates and into Heaven. His memories will always remain with us, until the day that we all can meet again.
