Richard E Mitchell

June 25th, 1940 – March 5th, 2021

Dick was born in Los Angeles at St. Vincent’s Hospital & moved with his family to Riverside at the age of 2. He attended Palm Elementary School, Central Jr. High & Poly High School & then moved to Ramona High when it opened & was the 1st graduating class in 1958.

He married the love of his life Betty Lee Jones in December-1957 & they were married for 60½ years before she passed away in October-2018.

Dick & Betty raised 5- children: Debby Wells, Jenny Schulte, Rick Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell & Brad Mitchell.

He spent years coaching his Sons in several sports. He also loved Hunting, Horseback Riding & spent many years at his River House enjoying Boating on the River in his many boats. He also enjoyed going to Car Shows with all his Buddies.

Right out of High School he worked with his Dad at Mitchell Glass Co. & he matured the Company to become one of the leading Glass & Glazing Contractors in Southern California.

Dick was a member of the Riverside Elks Lodge, joined the Riverside Rancheros in 1976 & was a member of the DeAnza Trail Caballeros as well as a member of the Rickshaws Car Club.

Dick is survived by his 5 Children & their spouses, 12- Grand Children & 9- Great Grand Children with 2- more on the way.

He will be Remembered as a Loving, Generous, Funny & Great Story Teller: Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle & Friend & will be forever missed by everyone.
