He was born on March 7, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas to Roberto and Esperanza Rangel.
He grew up in San Antonio, Texas in a family of 8 brothers and sisters.
The greatest day of his life was when he married his longtime sweetheart Celia, in Los Angeles, California on July 5, 1964.
He and Celia have 4 wonderful children, Sam, Anna, Joel and Jaime.
He has 2 amazing daughters-in-laws Irene and Yvonne, along with 6 beautiful grandchildren, Sam Jr., Mark, Madison, Mackenzie, Richelle, and Noah.
Reyes and Celia were a part of a Gospel singing quartet, ministering in song with Celia’s twin sister Lita and brother-in-law, Carlos.
Reyes and Celia spent most of their married life living in California, raising their children.
The Lord called them to move back to Texas, where they continued ministering in music and spreading God’s Word to anyone in need.
Reyes loved playing his 12-string guitar on the church worship team and while his wife, Celia, sang songs of praise and worship.
Reyes was credentialed by Missionary Alliance and often shared God’s Word from the pulpit whenever asked.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert, Rudy, and Ruben Rangel.
He is survived by his wife, Celia S. Rangel of Beeville; his children, Sam Rangel of Lake Elsinore, California, Anna Rangel of Corona, California, Joel Rangel of Beeville, Texas and Jaime Rangel of Riverside, California; one brother, Roger Rangel of Corpus Christi, Texas; three sisters, Becky Hurtado and Ruth Torres both of South Gate, California and Gloria Tateyama of Fresno, California.
