I am grateful that I did have the pleasure of knowing auntie Melinda when I visited CA. I’m glad also that she met my family.  I will never forget of her cooking, her neatness at home, her generosity and kindness.  She will forever remain in my heart and memories. 

Though I/we  won’t be able to join the services in person, please know that during this tough time, I would be thinking and praying about you , cousins ( Ashley, Courtney and Zach) and all of auntie Melinda’s family.

Cousins, may all your precious memories give you peace in knowing that she (and uncle Jess) raised amazing people.  May the Lord bless you with strength and comfort you during these sorrowful times.  May He comfort you with his love and peace.

Community Hospital of San Bernardino's staff and leadership sends their deepest condolences to the family. Melinda was a great nurse and we enjoyed the time we worked with her. Melinda was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.  May the Lord provide your family comfort and strength. We will keep the family in our prayers.

Visiting London during the birth of her first granddaughter, Poppy.

Each time that Ate visited Inang here in Pinas, She will do all her laundry and other concerns in the morning, and once done, she will go to Inang’s stall and relieved her para makapag nap si Inang. Each time sinasabi ni Ate sa akin na pupuntahan niya si Inang , para makatulog kahit sandali, I really admire her for that. Kasi ako, hindi ko ito na isip. For me, masasabi ko na Mahal na Mahal niya si Inang.

Each of us has different concerns, pero ito ay makikita kahit sa pinaka maliit at simpeng bagay. And she is very consistent, ginagawa niya ito hanggang sa last day before siya umuwi. Ate, alam ko appreciated ni Inang ang lahat ng support at pagmamahal mo sa kanya.

Melinda Flores Caronongan was the eldest among the five offsprings of the couple Amado and Saturnina G Flores.

Since our childhood, I noticed her strength and even her weakness. 

Her STRENGTH: very responsible, she is very firm with her decisions, she manages her finances well, she gets what she likes, she wanted everything in order, also a very good cook, when she is happy, wow talagang to the max, expressing all her joy, maingay talaga, she is sincere, kapag galit makikita mo, kapag masaya siya, mararamdaman mo.

Tatang  Amado died on Mar 9, 1976, and since then she supported Inang Turning with her Dry Goods Business. She was a nurse by profession, and after her duty she will go to Manila to replenish Inang’s stocks. Sa Bus siya natutulog, double job talaga si Ate, kahit nasa Pinas siya.

Nang ma punta si Ate sa USA, halos lahat ipinapadala niya sa amin. Sobrang selfless, and to my surprise, minsan nadinig ko si Ate abt Inang’s Litania, sabi niya, TAMA pala talaga si Inang sa mga itinuturo niya sa atin. She was able to adopt Jesus teachings in her life.
Our only brother, Jessie died last Sept 17, 2015. Ate have a  sched hip replacement around that period. Alam naman natin sa USA, once naka sched ka na at you don’t grab the opportunity, another waiting time na naman yon.

Ito ang sabi ni Ate: ang bilin sa akin ni Inang, sa mga pagkakataon na  may nawawala, (our loved ones who went ahead of us), UMUWI KAYO! UMUWI KAYO!  UMUWI KAYO!
SORRY Ate na hindi na kita nasundo, May sakit na rin ako at hindi ko na kayang mag long trip. We will wait for you here. Be assured  of my prayers, bukod sa araw araw na pa 
Misa for one year. 

SALAMAT sa pagkakataon na nag kausap tayo, ang lungkot ko hindi mo nakain ang mga hiniling   mo sa akin.

Mapalad tayo, kasi mabubuti ang mga magulang natin at pinalaki at inaralan ng TAMA. Ano mang kabutihan mayroon tayo ay pamana pa rin sa atin ng mga magulang natin.

My sister Melinda had an independent and adventurous spirit. Very hard working and energetic too.  She could get so much things done in any given day, one would get tired just watching her. She will be missed. She is gone but will never be forgotten.

Auntie Melinda - you will missed. We were blessed with meeting your family oh so many years ago and we are lucky to feel that we have become family. Being able to see you and Uncle Jess create your family and your three amazing children June Ashley, Courtney and Zach. You all have special places in our lives and in our hearts.  What was clearly noticeable was the strength and love to be here for your children - the best you could and the way knew how. Like we all do. I will miss your cooking - you always knew how to cater for a party. I will always remember your kindness and hospitality whenever we gathered. Please rest in peace in Heaven with Uncle Jess, Uncle Dan and my Dad - I hope you are all having a joyful reunion - Filipino style. Eternal rest grant unto you, may perpetual light shine upon you, may you rest in peace.
