It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Catherine Camire, who departed peacefully in her sleep on October 12, 2024, at her home in Riverside, CA, after a courageous battle with COPD. Mary was born on April 16, 1933, in Long Beach, CA, and attended St. Anthony High School, where she began her lifelong journey as a beloved friend and confidant to all who crossed her path.
Mary was a remarkable soul, leaving an indelible mark through her creativity, resilience, kindness, and unwavering love. Known to all as a true firecracker, Mary’s light shone brightly in all she did and brought warmth to those around her. Her passions were as vibrant as her spirit: she found joy in playing Rummikub, cheering on Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and her favorite sports teams, reading, camping, and, above all, sewing and quilting. Her handmade quilts were works of love that warmed the hearts and homes of those she cherished.
Mary’s legacy lives on in her children, Michelle Kraut; Jeff (Shauna) Camire; Rob (Marie) Camire; Ron Camire; Chris (Lorraine) Camire; and Catherine (Greg) Kimbrough. She was a devoted grandmother to Jeffrey, Danae, Jessica, Christopher, Robert, Matthew, Michael, Alex, and Devon and adored her great-grandchildren, Davyn, Madden, Maverick, and Caylee. She is also survived by her brother, Philip Miller of Montana, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mary is reunited in spirit with her husband of 45 years, Robert H. Camire Sr., who passed in 1999, and her second husband, John H. White, who passed in 2017.
Mary’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the boundless joy she brought into the lives of others.
Mary will be profoundly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
