James William Russell

August 2, 1938 – July 3, 2023

James William Russell was born on August 2, 1938, in Woodlake, Minnesota. He and his family moved to Norco, California when he was 4 years old. He married Gloria in 1967 and moved to Riverside, California where they raised 4 boys. James was very active in his church, Community Church of Norco, for many years. James raised chickens, pigs, horses, and the occasional cow, while working for Corona Norco School District, becoming the head of the maintenance department. After working there for more than 30 years, he retired. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lyla Russell of Riverside, and his sister, Sharel Anthony of Riverside. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Gloria Russell of Riverside, his son, Randall Russell of Hemet, Daughter-in-law, Stephanie Russell of Hemet, son, William Russell of Riverside, son, Mark Russell of Hesperia, daughter-in-law, Jackie Russell of Hesperia, son, Timothy Russell of Hesperia, his grandchildren: Marissa Russell, Morgan Russell of Hemet, Kyle Russell of San Bernardino, Brittany Russell of Hesperia, Nathan Russell of Hesperia, Hailey Russell of Hesperia, Owen Russell of Hesperia, Alley Russell of Hesperia, a great granddaughter: Everleigh Rongy of Hesperia, sisters, Vonnie Baehler of Green Valley, Arizona, and Marcia Russell of Palo Cedro, California, and many extended family members and friends.

He was a very caring, loving, and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He was a man of God. He is loved tremendously and will be deeply missed.
