Harold Wynsma

We are saddened to announce the death of Harold Wynsma. Harold passed away on March 29, 2021 at home with family after a yearlong battle with Small Cell lung Cancer. Born in Randolph Township, Friesland, WI March 26, 1935. The Wynsma Family moved to West MI in 1937 where he was raised. Harold attended the University of Michigan and Davenport University where he met and married Carol Noxon in 1961. They moved the family to Riverside, CA in 1964. He spent a lifelong career in Accounting with Culligan and Vermeer in CA.

Loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Friend. Harold was honored to be an Army Veteran of the Special occupation forces in Germany at the end of WWII. He proudly flew his American flag on every official holiday. Gun enthusiast, knife, coin collector, woodworker extraordinaire and proud Dutchman. Harold immensely enjoyed his friendships with his gun show buddies. He was very proud of his bowling team “The King and Three Queens”. He valued his relationships with his Church friends and especially his bible study group which he attended with special friend Lila Johnson.

Harold was preceded in death by bother Henry “Hank” Wynsma. He is survived by his most faithful and loving companion, Nellie, his redheaded Australian Cattle Dog. Also Survived by Daughters Brenda Lynn Wynsma, Susan Christine Wynsma (Terry Redfearn), Beloved Grandchildren Nathan Harold Best (Sarah), Ashlyn Christine Best (Nathan Harris), Lucas A V Wynsma (Kassandra Garcia) and His special Boy, Great Grandson Aiden Eugene Best. Siblings Elaine McIntyre (Jack), Roger Wynsma (Judy), Phyllis Day, many Nephews, Nieces and their families.

An open house will be held at his home in Riverside, Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 1-4pm. Please feel free to stop by, bring a favorite photo of Harold and yourself or jot down a favorite memory to share with his girls.

There will be a memorial Service on May 7, 2021 during Tulip Time at Grandville Bible Church on 44th St in Grandville, MI followed by a lunch reception. Private interment with Military Honors at Rest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to City Of Hope, as you can direct your donation to Small Cell Lung Cancer or a cancer of your choice.

He will be forever missed but we rejoice that he is now at home with Our Lord.
