Elsie Anthony Moreno Puckett Potter

Elsie was born June 12, 1934 as Elsie Anthony Moreno to Jesus and Lupe Moreno in Riverside, Ca. Elsie was the youngest of 9 children. She had 4 brother and 4 sisters, Robert, Esther, Angel, Lupe, Chuy, Henry, Margaret, and Mary.
The Moreno Family lived in Prado, Ca till Elsie was 5 years old. The family’s house flooded in 1940, forcing the family to relocate. The family moved to Norco, CA on a 16 1/2 acre ranch home. The family grew crops on the land.
She attended Norco Elementary School then attended Catholic School at St. Edwards’s church and also attended Corona High School. Elsie graduated from Corona High school.
In 1956 Elsie married Raymond Puckett in Las Vegas, Nevada. Raymond had 3 boys from his previous relationship Dennis, Steve, Larry. Elsie raised and loved the boys are her own. Elsie and Raymond had 2 of their own children Bobby and Tammey. Raymond was in the Air force and the family was stationed around the United States Boloxi, Mississippi air force base, Sheling air force base, Saliena, Kanasas air force base and California. Elsie and Raymond divorced in 1962, but remained closed friends the rest of her life.
Elsie remained in the Norco/Corona area raising her kids. She worked as a nursing assistant and in retail.
In 1979 Elsie married Jerry Potter and moved to Fontana, Ca. Later they moved to Lake Elsinore. She then became a homemaker. She became a widow in 1994.
Elsie moved back to the Corona area and spent the rest of her time there with her 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Elsie was a unique person always willing to help her friends and family when in need. She always said “in my hard times I had help and I will return the favor”. She enjoyed shopping, decorating, cleaning house but hated cooking. She enjoyed collecting chickens and rosters and owls. She loved to spend time with friends and family and traveling. She also loved to tell stories of the old days. She loved to play card every Saturday with all the girls for over 30 years. Elsie enjoyed taking care of the elderly.
Any one that knew her knew she was someone special her personality told a lot about her. She was a feisty, silly, funny and most of all loving person. Friends and family meant so much too her she loved being a mom, grandma, aunt, sister, and friend.
