David Eugene Strother, of Riverside, 75, passed away on January 3, 2023 where he resided for the past 50 years. He grew up in Riverside but had moved briefly to Phoenix, Arizona before returning back to Riverside.
David was born in Riverside on January 28th, 1947 and was preceded in death by his father, Gus Strother, mother Doris Strother, brother John Strother, and daughter Amber Strother. David is survived by his 1st wife Mary Mankey and their remaining four children, son Jacob Strother, and three daughters, Jennifer (Chad) Reid, Danielle Strother, and Tommie LaBrie, 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his brother LaMar (Sammy) Fawcett, sister Donna (Bob) Dellacamera, one nephew and three nieces, his previous second wife Emily Strother and step-son Joey Armijo.
David grew up in Riverside and attended Rubidoux High School, Riverside Community College and Cal Baptist College where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a minor in Business. He spent many years working in Business before finding his true passion of teaching in 1990 when he began substitute teaching while getting his teaching credential. His entire teaching career was at Orrenmaa Elementary, here in Riverside for 27 years before retiring in 2017. David touched many lives as an educator and spent his retirement dancing the nights away and spending time with his family. David will be truly missed by his family, friends, and all those that worked with him while teaching.
David passed on January 3, 2023 peacefully in his sleep at his daughters home surrounded by family.
