Daniel Ernest Gray, Sr., Perris, CA, departed this life on April 21, 2020 from complications with pneumonia. Dan was born June 6, 1947, Phoenix, Arizona, the first of nine children, to Nyna (Enedina Salazar) and Bud (Clayton Gray). A loving husband, father, brother, photographer and true Nikonian. Dan worked as a mechanic in the US Army 67N20 Rotary Wing in Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart. Dan leaves his wife of 16 years, Linda Diane Trussell, 7 children, 9 grandchildren and growing!
Dan bounded through life with a great sense of humor. He learned the art of photography, first as an apprentice to his father, later for newspapers and always for the love of it. He chased after events and adventure, looking for the perfect shot. He was a man of faith and knew of redemption. He deeply loved his family. Dan lived with PTSD and tried to help other veterans. He kept the names of his 13 close friends killed in Vietnam close to his heart. He honored his country during his lifetime.
The family thanks all the staff at the VA, Rancho Springs Medical Center- Murrieta, and Kaiser Moreno Valley for their dedicated loving care. 10-4 Good Buddy!
