James Willaim "Billy" Gravely

James William “Billy” Gravely, 65 of 1275 Daniel Road, Axton, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Specialty Select Hospital in Winston Salem. NC. He was born in Martinsville on March 4, 1948 to the late Aubrey Bernard Gravely and Pauline Jones Gravely. He was retired after more than thirty two years with South East Container where he was in supervision and enjoyed playing softball with his co-workers. Billy attended New Beginnings Worship Center. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lee Gravely. Surviving are his is wife of forty five years, Joyce Moxley Gravely of the home, two daughters and Sons-in-law; Sandra “Sandy” G. (Greg) Wright of Ridgeway and Kelly G. (Adam) Reynolds of Callands, two sons and daughter-in-law, J.W. (Donna) Gravely and Mark Gravely all of Axton, two sisters, Audrey “Boots” Martin and Patricia “Pat” Riggs, both of Sandy Ridge, NC, one brother, Kenneth Lee Gravely of Martinsville, four granddaughters, Presley Gravely, Kyndal Gravely, Jade Gravely and Sealey Wright and three grandsons, Dalton Wright and Blaine and Bennett Reynolds. Billy is also survived by his long time hunting buddy, Mike Hairfield and wife Cathy. A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 3, 2014 at New Beginnings Worship Center with Pastor Brad Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends 5-7 P.M. Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the church and other times at the home.
