Charles Calvin Motley, 73, of Axton, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Axton on March 16, 1941, to the late Clive Stultz Motley and Lucille Frances Holland Motley. He was retired after ten years as a troubleshooter with Tultex and finished his working career as an auto salvager.
Surviving are his wife; Hazel Clara Haynes Motley of the home, two sons and daughter-in-law, Rickey Lee Motley and wife Rebecca of Bassett and Mickey Ray Motley of Axton, one sister, June James of Warner Robbins, Georgia, one brother, Leonard Motley of Axton, three grandchildren, Taura Olsen and husband Isaac, Katelin Motley and Trinity Motley and one step-grandchild, Leslie Brown.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday August 13, 2014, in the Community Funeral Service Chapel with Kelly Ratcliff officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Cemetery on Joppa Road, Ridgeway. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in the Community Funeral Service Chapel in Ridgeway and other time at the home.
