Betty Anderson Thompson

Betty Anderson Biggs Thompson, 84, of Ridgeway, Virginia died on Friday, June 23, 2017. She was born November 29, 1932 in Lando Mine, West Virginia to Arthur H. Anderson and Ora Mae Wright Anderson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Thompson, son; Timothy Biggs, stepson; Barry Thompson, sister; Margie Anderson Wyatt, and brother; Wallace Anderson. Mrs. Thompson was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway. She also loved to read, sew, and work in her flowers. She especially loved her cats. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Trumbower and husband Thomas, sisters; Mabel Maynard, Mary Adams, Alberta Cochenour, and Teresa Bourns, brothers; William Tolbert Anderson and Arthur Anderson, Jr., grandson; Timothy Biggs, Jr., two great-grandsons, four step-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ridgeway. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Ridgeway officiated by Pastor Wayne F. Johnson. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Ridgeway, 107 Church St, Ridgeway, VA 24148 or the SPCA of Martinsville-Henry County, 132 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112
