Sue D Tidwell

The youngest child of eight, born to Samuel Mack West and Florence D. West in Weir, Mississippi on October 18, 1935. After she graduated from Weir High School, she came to Jackson, Mississippi in her twenties. It was here that she met and married Herbert D. Tidwell in 1957 and began raising a family and working. Working at General Electric, McRae’s, Zurich, and ending her working career in 2011 at State Farm.

She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and will be remembered for her love of faith, family, and friends.

Preceding her in death is her spouse, Herbert D. Tidwell, parents, Samuel Mack West and Florence D. West, and seven siblings.

Sue will be remembered by her three surviving children and their spouses, Deborah Strickland (Steve Strickland), Steve Tidwell (Tracy Tidwell), and Cheryl Dill (Kevin Dill); grandchildren, Jennifer Strickland, Mark Strickland, Konner Strickland, Mitch Tidwell, Weston Tidwell, Cory Pritchard, and Jennie Best; sister-in-law, Ouida Kahlstorf; granddaughters-in-law, Sara Pritchard, and Nicci Strickland; great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation for Sue will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Home & Parkway Memorial Cemetery, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 PM.

Honorary pallbearers are Mitch Tidwell, Weston Tidwell, Konner Strickland, and Cory Pritchard.
