Peggy was born on September 16,1933, to Fred and Rena Wilkinson Brent in Bogue Chitto, MS.
Peggy was a local and national beauty queen, winning various titles in Mississippi and in the U.S.
Peggy met her "pride and joy", Tally McGraw, on a blind date in Jackson, MS. They were married in 1954 at St. Richard's Catholic Church in Jackson. Peggy and Tally made their home in Jackson and Yazoo City while their children were young.
In 1980, Peggy & Tally opened McGraw Rental & Supply Company in Ridgeland, MS. For almost 20 years, Peggy ran the wedding & party rental section of the business with her daughter. Peggy and Tally enjoyed many years of traveling in their motorhome with the Traveling Bulldogs going to Mississippi State football and baseball games.
Peggy is predeceased by her husband, Charles H. "Tally" McGraw, her grandson, Rivers McGraw of Flora, her sister, Jemima Brent Smith of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and her parents, Fred and Rena Wilkinson Brent.
Peggy is survived by her children, Cindy McGraw of Madison, Chuck McGraw of Vaughn, Richard McGraw of Madison and Ellen McGraw Black (Paul) of Dallas. Lovingly known as Nana, Peggy is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Morgan Chaney Geary (Ryan), Jackson, Brent Chaney, Memphis, Hannah McGraw, Nashville, John Richard McGraw, Madison, Charles McGraw, Ocean Springs and Connor McGraw, Vaughn, and great-granddaughters Ellie and Campbell Geary and Kylie Rivers McGraw. She is also survived by her brothers, Fred Julian Brent (Dolly), Jerry Brent (Shirley) and Jakie Brent (Audrey), all of Bogue Chitto, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy's family is truly grateful for the warm and compassionate care given her by Covenant Caregivers.
A family graveside service will be held at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
