Mary was born in Memphis, TN on August 7, 1931 to Ruby Smith Gaddy and Ambrus Gaddy.
Mary married Charles Smith and together they had one son, Charles. She worked as a bookkeeper for the majority of her life. She enjoyed shopping and her time spent at church in her free time. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Madison for many years.
Mary is survived by her sister, Alva Fortuna (Len); son, Charles F. Smith (Donna); five grandchildren, Jessica S. Hilsman, Robert L. Smith, Joseph C. Smith and Joshua P. Smith; two nieces, Chanda Fortuna and Yolanda Fortuna; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Mary will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Parkway Memorial Cemetery, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Dr. Wm. “Brad” Castle, Dr. Bridget Jones and the wonderful staff of AccentCare.
