Marie Brown Myers

Marie Brown Myers of Jackson, MS passed from this world to meet her Savior on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the age of 92. Marie was born on June 13, 1932, in Ahoskie, North Carolina to Kenneth Freeman Brown and Vashtie Mizelle Brown.

In 1950, Marie graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk, VA. She then met the love of her life, James Carl Myers, Jr. (Jim), and they were married on September 24, 1950, and enjoyed almost 74 years of marriage before his passing. She moved with her husband and 3 children to Jackson, MS in 1966. After moving to Jackson, she was an active member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison where she served as an active and faithful member of Grace Sunday School for almost 60 years.

Marie was a homemaker and loving mother who enjoyed volunteering for several years at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS and was a Friends of Mississippi State Hospital Volunteer. She loved playing bridge with friends, bowling in the Women’s League at Broadmoor, and traveling with her family. There are no words to convey our families’ sense of loss from this wonderful wife and mother.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband James Myers. Marie is survived by her three children, Robert Arnold Myers (Debra) of Oxford, MS, Daniel Kenneth Myers (Michele) of Madison, MS, and Sandra Marie Myers of Jackson, MS; three grandchildren, James Robert Myers of Memphis, TN, Sarah Michelle Beckham (Josh) of Brandon, MS, and Christie Marie Allen of Jackson, MS; and two great grandchildren Isaac Edward Beckham and Caleb Robert Beckham of Brandon, MS.

Visitation will take place Friday November 22, 2024, from 10-11 am at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS 39157. A graveside service will be held at 11 am at Parkway Funeral Home.
