DeCe was born on a snowy January 18, 1948 in Sallis, Mississippi to Hazel Ruth Cochran Cain and Sam Oliver Cain, Sr.
DeCe was a very intelligent and talented lady. She had a passion for working with the elderly and pursued a career in that field. She worked for many years in the retirement industry. She served as executive director and regional manager for several retirement communities in south Florida. She enjoyed painting, as well as interior decorating and design. In 2013, DeCe authored a children’s book titled Angels on High, God’s Special Angels that will be treasured for generations to come. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson. Baking with her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family.
She is survived by twin sons, Trent Harrell (Shae) and Brock Harrell (Melody); six grandchildren, Brooke Harrell, Tanner Harrell, Bella Harrell, Selah Harrell, Olivia Harrell and Eric Harrell; one great grandson, Brantley Pruitt; and her siblings, Sarah Aldy, Ruth Alexander and Sam Cain, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her twin daughters, Sonya Lynn and Teresa Gwen Harrell and her parents, Hazel Ruth Cochran Cain and Sam Oliver Cain.
DeCe loved God and her family very much and will be greatly missed by all. Her greatest desire was to see all of her family in heaven.
Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Jackson, Mississippi on December 15, 2023 at 10:00 am with a graveside service to follow at 10:30 am in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
