ROUSE, William Richard, 91, of Highland Springs, passed away June 7, 2016. He was a United States Army veteran, and he served during World War II. He also was a retired foreman for EL Muller. William was an active member at Highland Springs United Methodist Church and he loved gardening, NASCAR, and playing cards with his sisters. He will be remembered for always making people laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Bell and Richard Rouse; wife, Edith Charles Rouse; daughters, Audrey Woodward and Janice Hoover; sisters, Mable "Pat" Crooks, Nellie Bew, Grace Livingston and Helen Milby; and devoted friend, Miriam Belvin. He is survived by his children, Richard Rouse (Cynthia), Roger Rouse and Paulette Klein; grandchildren, Ryan Rouse (Shelby), Devin Rouse (Christina) and Ashley Hoover; great-grandchild, Morgan Rouse; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers, Laurie Wilson, Peggy Swearingen, Lisa Brown, Fran Goad, Deborah Johnson and Trisha Stowe for their loving care while they were with him. Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum on Friday, June 10, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park.
