Paul William Reese

Paul was born on February 22, 1940. Paul is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Shen Mei Reese, on October 31, 2021; his parents, William and Edith Reese; brothers, Roy, Raymond, James, and Harley.

Paul is survived by his two daughters, Angie Walker (m. Mark Walker) of Roseland, VA and Michelle Kim of Ashburn, VA. Paul is also survived by his four grandchildren: Daniel Walker (m. Sadie Walker), Esther Walker, Tyler Kim, and Alexa Kim.

Paul was born and raised in a small farm town, Sabina, Ohio. He entered active duty Air Force in Fall 1958. During his time in the service, he was stationed in Texas, Mississippi, Greenland, and Pakistan as a radar systems technician and instructor. His civilian work as a radar technician also took him around the world, and eventually to Taiwan in Spring 1966, where he met the love of his life, Shen Mei.

Paul loved his country, his family, his home, and Jesus Christ. He has been a devoted member of the Highland Springs Church of the Nazarene since 1981. He has served on the church board for many decades and volunteered in administrative roles in the church the entire time he was in attendance. Paul was a man of utmost integrity and unwavering loyalty to everyone he loved.

Paul lived his life serving the Lord and spreading the gospel of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

A visitation for Paul will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231 with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, VA 23150.
