Paul Clifford Canter, Jr., 96, of Henrico, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
He was a U. S. Navy and U. S. Air Force veteran of WW II and Korea and was retired from sales with Security Corporation. He was a 36-year member and former deacon of Fort Lee Baptist Church and was a member of Sandston Masonic Lodge 216 and the Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed fishing, coaching little league baseball, attending church, cruise vacations and mostly spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Rimmer Canter; parents, Paul Clifford Canter, Sr. and Lela M. Canter; siblings, Mae Olinger, Lizzie Surber, Ruth Shortt, Mary Cardwell, J. C. Canter, Charles “Buddy” Canter and Sid Canter.
He is survived by his sons, Cliff Canter (Trish) and Tod Canter (Gail); grandchildren, Austin Canter (Krissy), Nash Canter (Jordan) and Leslie Golding; and brother, Mike Canter. The family will receive friends Friday, January 5, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Fort Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Road, Richmond, VA 23231.
