Gray, Matthew Lindsey, 75, of Richmond, passed away, Tuesday, September 30, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry A. Gray Sr.; mother, Elsie Marie Gray; sister, Ruby Tedesco; and brother, Harry A. Gray Jr. Mr. Gray was a retired equipment technician with Wittenbach Business Systems. He was a member and a Deacon of the Varina Baptist Church. Matthew was also Military Police in the Army Reserves. He loved to play the fiddle, enjoyed collecting and working on cars, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was the best husband, dad, and granddaddy. Mr. Gray is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith Sunday Gray; daughter, Marlo P. Gray; son, Mark A. Gray and his wife, Amy P. Gray; three grandchildren, Jack C. Gray, Ben C. Gray, and Sam C. Gray; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Hospice of VA for all of their care, especially his nurse, Hannah Aman. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2 from 4-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231; where a funeral service will be conducted, Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11am. Interment to follow in Four Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
