Martha Jane Love Lewis

LEWIS, Martha Jane Love, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014. Jane was born in Clover, S.C. on May 2, 1928 to the late William C. Love and Julia Leslie Love. She was formerly from Lesslie, S.C., and has lived in Sandston, Va. for the last 47 years. Jane was a 1950 graduate of Winthrop College and was retired from Henrico County Public Schools. She was a former member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church and a current member of Corinth United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Frances Huntsinger; her brother, William Leslie Love; her son, Robert Leslie Lewis; and daughters, Kathryn Jane Lewis, Patricia Ann Lewis and Margaret Irene Lewis. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Frances Lewis and Faye Love; her son, Charles R. "Rick" Lewis III (Edi); daughters, Carol Lewis Chervenak (Mark) and Anne Lewis Young (Wayne); and daughter-in-law, Barbara Atkinson Lewis. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Leslie Lewis Leggett (Craig), Philip Chervenak (Lilly), Nicholas Young, Emily Chervenak Holstrom (Larry), Connor Young, Allie Lewis, Kate Lewis and Claire Lewis; her great-granddaughter, Caroline Leslie Leggett; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express gratitude for the care Jane received from the staff of Hospice of Virginia at Retreat Doctors' Hospital. The family will receive friends on October 20, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., with services to be held at Corinth United Methodist Church in Sandston on October 21, at 12 noon.
