Marian was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Lee Knowles, Jr., parents, Andrew and Virginia Glascock; brothers, Andrew, Edward, Marshall, Garland and Jack; sister, Lucile Harris; and son in law Alfred Collins. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Collins, Terri Bruner (Carroll), Kay Luther (Phil); Jacki Spriggs (Rick); thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
As a young adult, Marian put her trust in her Savior and was a faithful church member for many years. She was active with Child Evangelism Fellowship, sung in the church choir, as well as served as a leader with the Women’s Missionary Fellowship at Immanuel Baptist Church.
She spent over 30 years in dedicated service to Ukrop’s Supermarket where she retired as a bookkeeper. After retirement she enjoyed numerous trips with the Evergreen Seniors at Immanuel, took cruises with friends and family and enjoyed visiting grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a special way of serving others by visiting shut-ins in nursing homes and hospitals and sending notes to encourage missionaries.
We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Manorhouse, Our Lady of Hope and Affinity Hospice. In lieu of flowers to honor her life, memorial gifts can be given to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Greater Richmond, P.O. Box 249, Sandston, Va. 23150.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, with Visitation at 10 a.m. and Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
