Joseph Patrick Sweeney

SWEENEY, Joseph Patrick, 65, of Henrico, finally became tired of waiting on the women in his life and went ahead without us on December 22nd, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife, Polly, whom he fondly referred to as the “Mother of most of his children”; his favorite eldest daughter, Jennifer Brown and her partner, Jack, of Quincy, Massachusetts; his favorite middle daughter, Elizabeth Sweeney and her fiancée, Dylan Bartos, of Henrico; and his favorite youngest daughter, Victoria Pagano, and her husband, John, of Henrico. His proudest accomplishment was being “Papa” to his precious granddaughter, Cora Josephine Pagano. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Betty Sweeney; and sister, Susan Sweeney Watts, and her husband Charles K. Watts. Apart from all of the women in his life, his fur-children were his best friends. He is happily greeting Murphy and Frazier now, while leaving Sammy to watch over his girls. Forever will be missed the king of bad dad jokes, encyclopedia of sports, and lover of home-grown tomatoes. HTTR! The family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Friday, December 30th at Nelsen’s Funeral Home in Henrico, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 31st.
