POUZAR-LATTA, Janice, 66, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Mae Snoddy and father, John Roy Gormus Jr. Jan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Latta; her stepfather, Harold Harvey; her son, Chris Pouzar; stepdaughters, Jennifer Sharon (James) and Krisy Erie (Jason); five grandchildren, Kaylie Erie, Jimmy and Joey Sharon, Rochelle and Jordan Pouzar.
She was employed at Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. for 22 years as an Employee Benefits Specialist. She then worked for HRH Insurance for five years as an Assistant Vice President Employee Benefit, CEBC. Jan was a longtime member of River Road United Methodist Church. She was passionately involved in the Choir and Bell Choir. She enjoyed playing in the Mel Burton Travel Bell Choir. They performed at the State Capital numerous times as well as the White House. Jan had a love of collecting dolls and Santas. She enjoyed cooking and watching the Food Network. Some of her favorites were Paula Deen, Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse and Guy Fieri. She also enjoyed watching Candice Olson on HGTV. Some of her hobbies include reading, sewing, knitting and crafting.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, Va. 23229. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with interment following at Taylorsville Baptist Church, 15415 Taylorsville Rd., Doswell, Va. 23047.
