WALKER, James W., “Jim”, 89 of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. He was preceded in death by Ruth, his wife of 67 years. Left to cherish Jim's memory are his sons; Jamie Walker(Daphne), Mark Walker(Susan); grandchildren, Matthew Walker(Emily), William Walker(Linnea), Stewart Walker, Haley Cook(Jacob), Davis Walker, and Sydney Swanson, and one great-granddaughter, Elise Walker, and one on the way. He was born in Spring Hope, NC in 1928. He served in the US Army Air Corp at the end of WWII as a radio operator in a B-29 in Okinawa, Japan. He retired from the FAA after 40 years of service. He was a member of Varina #272 and Richmond #10 Masonic Lodges. He enjoyed hunting in the Blueridge Mountains, fishing in the Chesapeake Bay, and trout fishing in Bath County, VA. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and tinkering in his wood working shop. We always enjoyed picking crabs in the back yard or eating oysters in his barn. His grandchildren were the light of his life to the point that the pool was always ready and there were plenty of treats in the refrigerator.
