Irene Barbara Mason

Irene Barbara Mason, the youngest of nine children, born in Augusta, Maine in 1924 departed this life on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. She is preceded in death by husband of 67 years, Roland Mason; son, Gary Mason; great grandchild, Charlotte Mason; and son in law, Fred Stilwell.

Barbara was a devout Catholic all her life, spending 47 years as an active member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church. Barbara enjoyed singing in the church choir where she served as a cantor. She also participated in the Belles and Beaus enjoying fun activities. She enjoyed caring for others and volunteered for Chippenham Hospital for 42 years.

Barbara, in May of 2016, won the Chesterfield County Senior Volunteer Hall of Fame recognition.

Barbara leaves to cherish so many wonderful memories; Daughter, Judith A. Stilwell; sons, Thomas R. Mason (Kathy) and David M. Mason (Mary Beth); grandchildren, Jim Stilwell, Scott Stilwell, Kelly Siegert, Gregory Mason, Alexandra Mason, and Brittney Mason; great grandchildren, Zach, Spencer, Evelyn and Natalie, Nathan, Andrew, Josh, Sarah, James, Lucas, Olivia, Cora, Lucy, Juniper; and grand dogs, Wrigley and Gracie.

The family gives a special thanks to Jean, Terry, Frank and Barbara, Mike and Muriel, Maria and Joe, Janet, Edsel, Karen, and Lisa.
