Helen Swann Payne

Helen Swann Payne, 88, of Henrico, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 25, 2017. She was born on November 21, 1928, to the late Edgar and Elsie Swann. She was a lifetime member of New Bridge Baptist Church. Helen was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Gerald M. Payne; sister, Rosa S. Catlett; and her brother, Buddy Swann. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Connie P. Bostic (Paul), Gerald L. Payne (Rhonda) and Mary P. Wheeler (Troy); grandchildren, Rusty Bostic (Vicki), Robin Bostic (Richard), Beth Mowbray (Matt), Jennifer Haynes (Josh) and Jacob Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Justin Bostic, Taylor Prestidge, and Carter Mowbray; sisters, Gladys S. Watson and Phyliss S. Childress. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Manor Care for their loving care of our precious mother. A visitation will take place on Sunday, May 28, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, May 29. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
