H. David Willis

WILLIS, Homer David, age 91, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Haysi, Va. He was the eighth of 10 children, born to the late Eddie and Sara Willis. He was a retired professor, having taught for 42 years, both high school and college. Mr. Willis was the first chairman of the Accounting Department at RPI, now VCU. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Arnold, Earl, Edith, Olyve, Lois, Polly, Bert, Carl and Neil. David was the last of his generation. A visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home on 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, with a entombment at Hollywood Cemetery Mausoleum at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 6.
