He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 and a half years, Mildred; parents, Louis and Louetta; three brothers; and two sisters. Left to cherish George’s memory are his daughter, Linda S. Cordrey (Rick); son, Steven W. Sawyer (Patricia); five grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Logan, Tonya and Jessica; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Washington Memorial Park on Friday, December 20, at 11 a.m.
