Doris L. Baker

Doris L. Baker, 87, of Sandston passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016. She was a bookkeeper and teller for several local banks and a bookkeeper for Hammond Masonry. She was a member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church and a member of the Windor Club of Elko. Doris loved going to the dances, the women’s crafts events, fair day, and the various other functions throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Louis “Sonny” Baker; parents, Ed and Ethel Ledford; brothers, Bobby and Gene; and a sister, Donna Jackson. She is survived by a daughter, Cathie Franklin (Ronnie); two grandsons, Chris Jackson and Curtis Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at Washington Memorial Park.
