So sorry to hear about Pete. I grew up in the Charles City Road house that Pete purchased around 1964! I said goodbye to Hinton Martin and Susan Vaughan and hello to Mechanicsville. The rest of my life, every time I drive by there I think of Pete Knight, Hinton, Susan, and Sam’s Store and Sam and Adele who lived next door.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I have been getting hay from Mr. Knight for several years and always enjoyed our talks. He always had a story and loved to talk about his grandson! He always asked about my family and truly cared.  He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed. 


I can’t remember a time in my life without the Knight family!  Wonderful people, kind, giving and gracious.  Thank you Bubba and Jerry!


I have lost a dear friend. He was kind, generous, loving, and caring. Pete and Carlton loved to play tricks on Randy like the garden and the lawnmower. Pete, you and Randy are together again. Please don’t get in trouble in Heaven. God bless you my friend. I will miss you!

I am so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing.  I remember him from the Eastern Government Center when I worked in the Finance area there.   He always had a smile on his face.  May God grant you peace during this difficult time, I know you will miss him.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Pete.  I grew up 2 houses down from you guys on Charles City Road. I can remember my dad Danny Shrader setting me on the soda pop machine at Cauthorns after a long work day while the guys chatted and had a beer.  The last time I saw Pete was at the old Stage Coach restaurant in Mechanicsville with Mrs. Knight many years ago.  Pete still had that crazy smile I remember and that contagious laugh.  I'll keep your family in my prayers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Knight Sr. and Althea Knight. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Judy Knight; children, CW Knight III and Donna Claytor (Kevin); grandson, Kyle Claytor; siblings, Waverly "Bubba" Knight, Jerry Knight (Billie) and Vicki LeMaster (Andy); and very dear friend, Carlton Vaughan.
