Clarence (Jake) Taylor, Jr. of Richmond, VA died on April 12, 2023. Jake was the youngest son of Clarence Brooke Taylor and Inez Ruth Taylor. He was born on September 8, 1929 at home on the family farm on the South Branch of the Potomac River.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Adelheid E. Taylor; his brother, John B. Taylor of Wiley Ford, WV; his sisters: Eva Parsons of Springfield, WV; Ruth Malone of Ft. Ashby, WV; Mary Susan Krimm of Richmond, VA; Margaret T. Baker of Richmond, VA; and Pat T. Lester of Northbrook, IL.
He is survived by daughters Cynthia (Bob) Wagoner of Ft. Ashby, WV; Sherry Lupton of Augusta, WV; Robin Watts of Springfield, WV; and stepson, J. W. Taylor, of Roy, UT. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Shandon Watts, Rob (Jana) Wagoner, Ashley Watts, Rick (Maggie) Wagoner, Dana Veach; and one step-grandson, Shawn Taylor of Ogden, UT. His surviving great-grandchildren are Branson Watts, Bradley Watts, Luke Wagoner, Harper Wagoner, Dylan Watts, and Remy Wagoner. His surviving sister is Ann Bell of Richmond, VA.
Jake was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam conflicts having served his country for twenty-three years. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. After military service, he worked for Orkin Exterminating Company for twenty-three years. Burial will be in the Westhampton Memorial and Cremation Park, Richmond, VA.
The service will be graveside on April 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
