Catherine Anne Bell

Catherine Anne Bell, 91, of Richmond, VA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wheeler K. Bell and daughter, Sharon B. Cheshire. She is survived by her son, Richard K. Bell (Beth), daughter, Susan B. Gallagher (Michael); grandchildren, Melissa (Lenny), Hannah; great-grandchildren Chloe, Sophia (Peter) and Nico. Mom and Dad were blessed with 66 years of marriage until his death in 2018 due to complications from Alzheimer’s. After, she moved to Sunrise Villa Tuckahoe where she enjoyed the caring staff and her amazing friends, including her “bestie” Harriet. Mom was loved by many, and known for her intelligence, kindness, spirit and sharp wit. Mom grew up on a large farm in Springfield, WV and was the last remaining of 8 children. We will bring her home Friday, June 28 for interment at Indian Mound Cemetery, Romney, WV at 2pm. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Pm, at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Richmond VA . The family would like to thank the staff at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital for their kindness and grace given to Mom in her last hours. Lastly, many thanks to Sunrise for providing such a lovely “last chapter” in her long, wonderful book of life. We will all cherish our many memories – love you Mom!
