He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his beloved wife of 54 years Virginia “Ginny” Farry Maunder. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a Lithographic Plate Maker by trade. He was an artist and an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and VCU Rams. Survivors include his daughter Ginny (Steve) Coudriet, his son Larry Maunder, his daughter-in-law Nancy Maunder, his grandsons Danny (Mariela) and Ben Coudriet, Luke and Zach (Kimberly) Maunder and his great grandson Joaquin Coudriet. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Janet Jackson, special niece and cribbage partner Marjie Carroll, the Mendez family of Argentina, his “Best Buddy” Michelsha (Aaron) Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews and dear neighbors (in particular Pat, W. J. and Jean, Jimmy and Molly, Tim and Emily) and good friends (in particular Jim and Lois Zarefoss). Dick was a kind and caring man who loved his family deeply, especially his grandsons and great grandson. He gave the best hugs and had the warmest heart. He held a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. Sincere thanks to his dear friends Michelsha and Michelle for helping us through those last few hours. The family will receive friends Thursday May 24, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where a memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 2 p.m.
