Saunders, Anna Rebecca Bradford passed away on 24 December 2012. She was ninety-four. The widow of Carrol Page Bradford and Charles Edward Saunders, she is survived by her three children: Carrol Page Bradford, Jr. and wife Caress Wynn Hazelrigs Bradford of Richmond; Anna Demetra Hemsch and husband Michael Hemsch of Williamsburg; Beverly Diane Vick and husband Steven Vick of Dandridge Tennessee; five loving grandchildren Shalen Wynn Bradford Coleman and husband Walter Doley Coleman and William Page Bradford all of Richmond, VA, Rebecca Vick of Raleigh, NC, Amanda Vick of Jackonsville, FL, Brooks Vick and wife Tina Vick and great grandson Hayden Vick of Dandridge. She is also survived by a brother Dennis Cheeley of Kenbridge and many wonderful nieces and nephews from her ten siblings. Born in Lunenburg County and raised on a tobacco farm, she married Carrol P. Bradford of Kenbridge and later moved to the Eastern Shore’s Cape Charles, Virginia where she became a member of the Easter Star. She loved to dance and she and Carrol were active square dancers.
Rebecca, also known as Reba to some, was a crackerjack bridge player, a master seamstress, and an award-winning artist. Her love and appreciation of nature is evident in her many lanscape paintings. She loved to cook for her family and hosted many lively family dinners. We all loved her and will miss her.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Woody funeral home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Richmond, Va. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Westhampton Memorial Cemetery.
