Hood, Ann Lee Woodward, 88, went home to the Lord on Sunday, November 3. Celebrating her reunion with her beloved husband, Norman E. Hood, Sr. (Eddie) are their children, Martha Parcell Tingler, Norman E. Hood, Jr. (Ned) and wife Marla, Norma Jane Hood, and Rebecca Hood Jones (Becki) and husband Wally. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chip Parcell (Shannon), Christopher Parcell (Jill), Jeff Hood, Jennifer Allen, and Molly Hood; and seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Colby, Kaitlyn, Jack, Charlotte, Lauren, and Joseph.
Ann graduated from John Marshall High School in 1941 and attended Westhampton College on a French scholarship. She and Eddie were married for forty-six years and were loving and devoted parents. Her strong faith was a gift that she shared with many throughout her life. She was a charter member of Reveille United Methodist Church, more recently worshipped at Messiah Christian Church, and actively participated for many years in the ministries of the Richmond Emmaus Community, the association of Camps Farthest Out, and various prison ministries.
The family will receive friends at the Parham Road Chapel of Woody Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and at 10:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service. Following the service, interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad in gratitude for their selfless service to the community.
