Alice C. Conkle

Alice Crockett Conkle, 69, of Varina, went to Glory on Monday, May 15, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, James Harold Crockett; sister, Laura Jean Crockett; and her unborn son, James Arthur “Jac” Conkle. She worked as a LPN at Retreat Hospital, but departed the workforce to take care of her family. She was a member of The Rise Church in Varina. Alice loved her family and liked playing board games, going to the beach at the Outer Banks and loved her cats. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Milton A. “Mac” Conkle; daughters Kathryn Alexis Jackson (Corey) and Heather Marie Dettor; grandchildren, Haley Marie Dettor, Matthew Alexander Jackson, Adelyn Shae Jackson; mother, Delores June Crockett; sisters, Connie Louise LaCourse and Elizabeth Ann “Sam” Morrisette; and a large circle of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8 pm, Monday, May 22 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be held 10 A.M., Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made in her name to the Richmond S.P.C.A. She was a very loving and compassionate woman who will be very missed.
