At the age of ten years old she moved to Richmond, CA with her family. She attended and graduated from school in the Richmond Unified School District.
Mary was blessed, to have in this world Ruben Allen Anderson, Theresa Ann Davis, and Charles K. Davis.
She accepted Christ in her life at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, under the late Reverend Dangerfield in Richmond, CA. She moved her membership from Mt. Olive to Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Stevenson in Richmond, CA.
Many days you could catch Mary bowling and she was a site at it. Mary was a real competitor and it showed in all of the trophies she had.
She was employed with Albertine's restaurant in Berkeley, CA for over 30 years. Her retirement was a joy for her. She was able to travel to many different places, as a result, but, her favorites were Arkansas, Bakersfield, and Modesto where she could spend the most time with family and close friends.
Mary departed this life and gained her wings on March 19, 2022. She is preceded in death by her loving son Ruben Allen Anderson, grandson Ruben Anderson and her parents.
Mary L. Smith is survived by her one and only daughter, Theresa Davis of Vallejo, CA, a son, Charles K. Davis of Fairfield, CA, a grandson Demone (Crystal) Anderson of Dallas, TX; two great-granddaughters, Kaana Richardson of Oakland, CA and Bailey Anderson of Dallas, TX; one great-great-granddaughter, Layla Collins of Oakland; one aunt/sister, Elnora (George) Washington of Modesto, CA, and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Fuller Funerals, Inc, 3100 Cutting Blvd, Richmond, CA 94804. A homegoing celebration will occur Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Fuller Funerals, Inc.
