Eugene L Caldwell, 73, of Richlands, NC, formerly Dayton, OH, died Thursday May 18, 2017 at Carolina East Medical Center.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Richlands from 6-8 pm Monday, May 22 . Funeral Services will held Tuesday morning at 11 am. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the family cemetery.
Survivors include wife of 50 years, Ellen Dail Caldwell; twin sister Susie and husband Claude Pennycuff; sister, Karla Napier; daughter Debi and husband Dave Coterel; sons Rodney and wife Dawn, and Eric and wife Jenny; Grandchildren, Jessica & David Coterel, Ciara & Dylan Lyster, Chandler & Kaley, Madison, Brooklyn & Jaxson, and Alyssa & Peyton.
Gene was in the Marine Corps and later taught precision machining at Greene County Career Center for many years. He took a special interest in his students and was known for taking young men and turning them into gentlemen and precision machinists. He loved God and his family first & fishing second. Gene was a wonderful man who is very loved and will be missed by many.
