Age 76, of Afton, passed away on May 5, 2017 at White Pines Assisted Living in Cottage Grove. Preceded in death by parents Ralph & Helen Klett. Survived by his daughter, Leanne Klett (Jon Meinke) & son, Jon Klett (Kathy); granddaughters, Anneka & Emily Meinke, Angie & Katie, great-granddaughter Ellie; siblings Russ (Patty), Keith (Kay), Sandy Glover, Bob (Sherrie), Tom (Joan), Barb Gabriel (Rich); many loved nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and good friends. Jerry devoted his working years to the 3M company in St. Paul. He loved waterskiing on Gull Lake, coaching hockey, going up to the North Shore, riding horses, spending time with the Klett & North families. He looked forward to any fishing, hunting, and travel opportunities. He was a member of the St. Paul Club and Pheasants Forever. Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the HealthEast Hospice staff and especially to the staff of White Pines Assisted Living for their loving care and kindness. A celebration of life for Jerry will be at Tinucci’s Restaurant, 396 - 21st Street in Newport, MN 55055 on May 18, 2017 from 4pm – 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
