On August 12, 2024, heaven gained a new angel. Ray Ortega was a beloved man who never met a stranger. His welcoming & affectionate personality always made you feel like a friend and he always had the ability to make you laugh. An unforgettable man with a love of life, Ray will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The simple things in life brought Ray joy. Whether he was out hunting, spending the day on the golf course, or watching the Dallas Cowboys play on a Sunday night, he was content. Family was also very important to him. He would do anything for his children and grandchildren, and he made sure that they knew that. He was also known as a hard-working man. He proudly served in the United States Army for 2 years and then dedicated over 30 years to working in freight management.
Ray was preceded in death by parents Felipe and Gloria Ortega; and Sister Delia Hernandez. He is survived by his daughters Tina (Randy) Weatherspoon of Garner, North Carolina, Lori (Will) Walker of Knightdale, North Carolina, and Son Lance (Jeremy) Ortega of Dallas, Texas.
