Ollie, as she was better known, was born on March 3, 1939 in Evans City, Pennsylvania to William D. Gibson and H. Elizabeth (Grubbs) Gibson. She grew up on a family farm north of Pittsburgh, PA while attending a one room school house and then a traditional high school. Ollie had grand dreams to explore more of what life had to offer after her high school education. After graduating from high school, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the federal government Voice of America. During this time, she met William R. “Bill” Frank. Ollie and Bill were soulmates and were married for 54 years until his death. She would tell her friends that her biggest accomplishment was her three children, Bonnie, Duwayne and Mary, and her biggest joy was her grandson Aaron. She was devoted to the Lord and was a long-standing member of First Presbyterian Church of Richardson, where she served as an elder and volunteered for outreach work. What many might not know, is how giving our mother was. She had a kind, gentle heart and knew that she was fortunate enough to help others. This help was usually done in silence, as she never cared to be the center of attention. Ollie also worked for the Richardson Independent School District for many years as an elementary school cafeteria manager until her retirement. This allowed her to spend more time with her children while they were growing up. During her spare time she enjoyed playing games with her friends and family. Already, she is missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her three children Bonnie Frank, Duwayne Frank and Mary Frank and her grandson Aaron. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Elizabeth Gibson, her sister Hazel Grunnagle, and her husband Bill.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff and many friends she made at Cottonwood Creek Healthcare Community for taking care of her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Richardson, 271 N. Walton St., Richardson, TX 75081.
