Another year passes, but love and memories never fade! Miss you Mike, and all our fun and crazy memories! Somehow, the last 64 years of all we did, experienced, and growing up together, sharing all our families “adventures” have flown by! Jay and I reminisce all the time about the early years and they bring warmth, laughter and love! You are always in our hearts!

Hard to believe, it's already been five years.  I think of you often, especially as I go through my treatments.  I even saw a tweet today citing your 2014 paper.  You would be so proud.  Miss you, my friend.

It seems like it was just yesterday when we were having our latest mathematical discussions.  Time flies.

It's hard to believe  that it's already 5 years..Our thoughts are always with you..don't worry about Irene..she will be fine here..

Dear Family and Friends of Michael Allen Dryden,
Last Sunday (June 28, 2020) marked the second anniversary of Mike's death. It is hard to believe he has been gone for two years. 
He was the kindest, smartest and most compassionate person I ever knew (we were married for 37 years) and he went the extra mile to help others. He will always live in our hearts. There has never been a day I don't think of him and he guides me in my daily thoughts and actions.
He was finally laid to rest at the Garden of Wisdom at Restland Cemetery on his birthday on Dec 8, 2018. He would have been 70 years old. 
I have been deeply touched by comments written by family and friends in memory of Michael and enquiries about my well-being. I want to take this occasion of Mike's second anniversary of his death to thank you all. 
I am well and thank Mike for making me strong. I survived the F3 tornado last year that devastated my housing sub-division of Richland Meadows but left my home intact. I am doing well with "stay at home" which is the new normal with COVID 19. Generally I am in good spirits.
Thank you all for your care and friendship. I could not have survived Mike's death without your support.

Both Jay and I miss his Uncle Mike and my brother-in- law! I was part of his life for almost  60 years, so we grew up together and grew old together! We miss him terribly, as he was a loving, kind and funny man & the last link to our Dryden family! Memories hold him close and love even closer! We’ll meet again!

Hard to believe it's already been two years.  Mike was a good friend and I think of him often.  For all the years I was away, we made a point to get together whenever I got back in town.  We would catch up on the latest gossips and our respective cancer treatments.  Mike always had a different perspective on things.  He  advised me on anything from when to retire to how to lower the cable bill.  I wish we could still do lunch again for I'm sure he would have a few things to say about this pandemic.  Rest in peace.

Just wanted you to know that Bill and I are thinking of you.   It always makes me smile to remember Mike  ( or Mikey as he was affectionately known in the office).    It was a pleasure to know and work with him. He made the world a better place. Hope you are well

Mike Dryden was  a brilliant researcher who combined competence and compassion to put forth authentic conclusions. He was my favorite  "go to" person in DISD to get information that I knew would be true and reliable.  An authentic, trustworthy, competent   colleague.  Rest in peace!

Irene, family and so many friends,
It was said at the time of his death and has not changed - Mike added so much wherever he was and will not be forgotten. Remembering that he was the go-to person when there was a problem that did not have an easy solution,  that he was always willing to go just a little further to explore options, and he made you feel happier after the conversation. It is a comfort to know that he will always be with us.

The Good that Mike has done will live well after him, and is embedded in his evaluative reports, conversations, and Effective and Authentic Pedogogical Practices in and beyond the children, youth, and adults in school communities he served. 

I bear witness to the fact that his insites and technical acumen, as well as his precision were beyond reproach. 

May He Rest In Eternal Peace, and May his Wife Irene and Family Find Comfort in Knowing he was and is obviously Revered as a Faithful Friend, and Excellent Public Servant.

Mike was always happy and one of the kindest, soft-spoken, and really most gentle persons I was ever fortunate enough to know. He and I and two other co-workers drove one time from Dallas to San Francisco, in a van, for a conference. It was a terrific fun experience, which I always remember. Cecilia and I were very sad to hear of his passing and we wish the family all our thoughts and prayers.

Mike Dryden was one of the persons at DISD that I truly admired. A man of intellect, integrity and genuine concern for children, made him one of my favorites to work with and to have conversations with....I always left more informed  and treasured such honesty. His behind the scenes work  with principals, teacher leaders and others to ensure success for children was not widely known. I was blessed to be one of those who knew, and who knew Mike Dryden!  Blessing  to his family always!


Words cannot express how we feel at the loss of our dear friend, Mike.  Once the grief is less raw, we can reflect fondly on the many enlightening conversations we had over the past 20 years.  Mike was the most thoroughly informed person we have ever known, and we could always count on him for a different perspective on things. Through our shared professional and personal experiences, we learned a lot from each other.  In life, as in death, he will always be in our hearts.  We will miss him dearly ....

   Michael was such a delightful person that we have ever known for decades, his  knowledge was often shared ,during our " get togethers"  He will be missed.. 
………..After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we’ve shared with  Michael,who have passed.  This is what keeps him alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us.

Michael was brilliant and insightful. He contributed to the success of educators and children. His integrity was admired by many, especially by me.
