It is with great sadness that we make known the death of Meredith James (Jim) Walker, 88, of Richardson, TX on December 27, 2014. Jim, born to James C. Walker and Sibyl Hasselmeier Walker in Kerens, TX on August 13, 1926, grew up in Houston.
He is survived by his wife, Rena (Nema) Walker; children, Kim and Roger Walker-Wheatley, Rick and Karen Walker; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and brother, Ronald Owen Walker. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and sisters, Jackie Watson and Carol Strelau.
“Papa Moe” was a man of integrity, was highly confident, and had great convictions. Among his greatest accomplishments were being a wonderful husband and father, World War II Navy veteran, oil & gas executive, investor, mentor, and teacher. Papa never met a stranger and loved to talk with all people. Most importantly, he was a kind and loving man. He served the church, volunteered to help the community, and helped many others in ways we will never know.
