Born, December 27, 1932, age 91, passed from this life to her heavenly home, Friday, October 11, 2024, at 6:34 AM. She’s no longer suffering in pain. Claudine’s journey of living has really just begun; singing and praising, worshipping, and rejoicing with Jesus. She was called Mom or Momma by her children and Mema by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. Some of her siblings called her Dean, and her nieces and nephews sometimes called her Aunt Dean.
Claudine seriously devoted her entire lifetime to God. She received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus Name at a very young age. She was a prayer warrior and never missed church unless she or one of her children were very ill. Claudine put the needs of her family and others before her own.
She and her late husband JN Reynolds, and their 2 baby girls, moved to Garland, Texas from North Little Rock, Arkansas March 1954, seeking better opportunities of employment. Her husband was a big talker, never met a stranger, had a huge, contagious laugh, and an enormous sense of humor. On the other hand, Claudine was very shy, reserved and sometimes withdrawn. She was a lady of few words, but she knew what she wanted to say. Claudine was a perfectionist, and halfway just would not do. Claudine had a dry sense of humor, but she sometimes laughed at cute little things. She always smiled around babies, mostly her grand babies. It’s a funny mystery how JN and Claudine ever got together. Their personalities were so different, like daylight and dark. Many times, Claudine would scold JN for unnecessary talking, or teasing or joking, or foolishness as she would call it. He would just keep on laughing while she, looking back at him, would give JN a sour face; as if to say, “I wished he would be quiet!”
They were both faithful members of North Cities Church for many years and faithfully attended various Pentecostal churches; always ready to lend a helping hand. They both played a big part in church ministry. JN was a preacher, and Sunday School Superintendent. Claudine taught Sunday School in her younger years. They both sang special songs together and encouraged their children to sing along. Many times, you could hear gospel music in their home, such as the piano, guitar, harmonica, accordion, mandolin, and their kids whistling and singing. If you hung around them very long, you would find yourself singing right along.
Claudine will be missed by her children, Anita Carol Perkins, (husband Ed), from Ft Worth, Texas, Verona Diann Farrow, (husband Darrell), from Greenville, Texas, Jerry Navon Reynolds, (wife Cindy), from Farmersville, Texas, sisters: Dorothy Lee Chaney, from Garland, Texas, Erma Jean Auhlers, from Lampasas, Texas, and brother Claude David Goss, (wife Tina), from Whitehall, Arkansas, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 7 great, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
