Binh Lieu

Binh Lieu, 79 years old, of Garland, Texas, passed away on March 25, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Saigon, Vietnam on Chinese New Year’s Eve in 1946, and was the first boy and the third of eleven siblings.

Binh is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Soan Kim Lieu, and five wonderful children: Phuong Uyen Lieu (Julie) and her spouse Khoi Tran, Phuong Thanh Boi Lieu (Crystal) and her spouse Victor Eagle Hoang, Phuong My Lieu (Cindi) and her spouse Thao Truong, Quan Minh Lieu (Kevin) and his spouse Lily Lieu, and youngest daughter, Ashley June Lieu; eleven adoring grandchildren: Alexander Hoang, Jocelyne Tran, Nicholas Tran, Andrew Hoang, Addison Hoang, Emalie Truong, Megan Truong, Alyssa Lieu, Benjamin Truong, Ava Lieu, and Bree Lieu; and remaining six close-knit siblings: sister #1 Lieu Thuan Trinh, sister #2 Lieu Thuc Trinh, brother #2 Lieu Trung Chi, brother #3 Lieu Trinh Thanh, brother #5 Lieu Chinh Vi, and brother #6 Lieu Duc Vinh; as well as 31 nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.

Binh graduated from Chinese School, Phan Nam at Ba Chieu, Saigon, Vietnam. He was a member of the Vietnam Navy at Ben Bach Dang Port and had a thriving business in Saigon. Binh bravely migrated with his spouse and children from Vietnam on October 17, 1980, to find freedom and a better life for his children. He arrived in the United States on March 11, 1981, where he was devoted to his jobs at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center and Sun Chemical Corporation until his early retirement.

Binh had a passion for collecting and fixing antiques, was incredibly innovative, possessed extraordinary mathematical skills, and loved playing video games. He will always be remembered for the immense love he had for his family and friends, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6th, from 10 AM to 6 PM at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 South Greenville Avenue, Richardson, Texas 75081.

A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, April 7th, from 8:30 AM to 11 AM at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas, followed by a private family burial at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.

Anyone who wishes to send flowers for the family may have them delivered to Sparkman Funeral Home by 1 PM on Saturday, April 5th.
