Heaven gained a man of integrity, honor and love for family. Billy Sudbury was born August 1,1932 in Paul’s Valley Oklahoma. He joins his beloved wife of 66 years Mary Ann and baby boy Sudbury on January 9, 2021. Billy is preceded in death by his parents Edwina Fox and Robert Leonard Sudbury and brother RV Sudbury.
He grew up in Paul’s Valley Oklahoma and attended school in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Billy was an athlete playing all sports and was on the 1949 State championship football team. He meet his future wife on the football field, she was a twirler. They were living in Paul’s Valley when he was drafted into the army and became a MP for the United States Army After leaving the service he traveled to West Texas. Billy worked in the oil industry in Odessa Texas. While in Odessa he was active in coaching little league baseball and volunteering.
Billy is survived by his brother Arlis Sudbury and sister Yvonne Cox. They have three surviving children, Billy Sudbury, his wife Choyia Gale, Mary Kay Sudbury, Robert Sudbury, wife Bobbie Kay Sudbury. Billy had six grandchildren Tonya Johnston, Jerrod Sudbury, Kristi Mann, Tina Lambright, Patricia Neyer, and Melissa Acosta. He had 6 Great-grandchildren Piper, Sadie, and Josie Johnston, Kayra Touchét ,Aerith Neyer and Jaxon Acosta.
Billy and MaryAnn loved to travel across the country in their fifth wheel with family and friends. He worked many jobs after retiring but the most rewarding was starting a church in Thackerville Oklahoma RV park.
Billy was very proud of his Native American Choctaw roots.
Services are held by Sparkman Funeral Home. Viewing is January 20, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Sparkman Funeral Home In Richardson, Texas. He will be buried at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, January 21, 2021 at 9:30 AM.
